The Southeast Marketing Center provides marketing services to growers,
packer/shippers, buyers, and commodity associations in the southeast region
of North Carolina. This region includes some of our state's major fruit
and vegetable production areas. Blueberries are grown and shipped throughout
the eastern US and Canada from late May through June. A variety of summer
vegetables are produced including peppers, cucumbers, squash, corn, and
watermelons and are also shipped throughout the eastern U.S. during June
- September. Marketing assistance from this office includes locating buyers
and suppliers, developing new markets, creating publicity for direct marketed
crops, and conducting marketing promotions to increase demand for these
crops.
